Do GOD You Trust?

When was the last time you prayed to God?

Well, I know the answer varies for different people. Let me tell you mine. The last time I prayed to God was during the Indo-Pak cricket match. It was a nice encounter, between God and me I mean. Feeling helpless about a situation in which I desparately wanted to make a difference, I tried all the tricks. I pleaded, cajoled, reasoned and even threatened (hehe) God into turning things into the way I wanted them to be! So was I successful? Well, the results do say I was. Although I must admit that the wickets and the boundaries did not always come at the time I wanted them to be, it was good enough.

My relationship with God has boiled down to this kind of encounter for a long time now. When I was in school hostel, I used to have mental bets with Her ( make it a Him if you are a MCP!). It would go like : " Okay! If I dont get caught while sleeping in the study session this evening, I would not bother you tomorrow". I made sure I kept my promise if She was kind enough. Else, it was back to another demand for next day.

It was not until I passed high school that I realized the futility of this kind of behavior with myself. Thereafter I have not been asking Her for any favors, except in situations which I consider too important to let my leverage go unutilized.
